About Our Practice

Our goal is to provide our patients the ability to achieve optimum dental health. Our small, family-centered staff is committed to dental care delivered in a caring and compassionate environment. We are a dental practice that treats the entire family, but have a special emphasis on adult restorative care. We offer individual appointment times set aside just for you, so there’s no double booking. We firmly believe that education is the key to prevention. This is emphasized with all of our patients, especially children. A wide range of services are offered including preventative care (cleaning and fluoride), cosmetic care (porcelain veneers), tooth colored fillings, crowns and bridges, jaw pain relief (TMJ), and complex restorative care including implants and bite problems.

We have a close working relationship with our dental laboratories. This relationship allows us to customize our procedures to meet your individual needs.

Complex cases may involve the participation of a dental specialist such as periodontist, endodontist, oral surgeon, or orthodontist in a multidisciplinary approach. Our office will gladly coordinate that referral to see that our patients receive the best care possible in a consistent and logical sequence.

Your First Visit

Our friendly dental team is interested in you. We are ready to help! By building upon a foundation of trust, we will partner with you in your dental health decisions. Listening to you is a priority in our office. Except for emergency problems requiring immediate treatment, we recommend you be seen initially for a thorough exam and diagnosis. We must be aware of all existing conditions if we are to make a diagnosis and deliver excellent dental care to you.

A thorough medical and dental history will be reviewed, and a series of diagnostic digital X-rays are obtained. We will measure each tooth in six places to check for gum disease. Dr. Major will examine your jaw joint and muscles that support the jaws. Additionally, the soft parts of your mouth will be examined for any changes, troubles, or concerns. Each tooth is examined under magnification and existing dental restorations are charted and evaluated.

Additional diagnostic data including plaster casts (models) of your teeth may be made for study. These models can be aligned on a machine that duplicates how you chew and function. Digital photographs of your teeth may also be taken. These images are an excellent way to relay your concerns to Dr. Major. They are also an excellent means of laboratory communication when complex dental issues are involved.

Of course, communication is the key to the doctor-patient relationship. If you have any questions about this comprehensive approach, please talk to us about your concerns. We are here to help you!
